Since their first meeting in the late 1970’s in New York City, artist Seward Johnson and author Gérard Roubichou have continuously entertained an amicable transatlantic dialogue. This has enabled the author to follow the sculptor, to focus on examining the evolution of Johnson throughout his various periods and explain his particular approach to sculpture and, more generally, to the aesthetic experience.
