SEWARD JOHNSON: Sculpture in the Garden

The exhibit includes two of the artist’s most popular works: the Mona Lisa inspired “Reason to Smile” and the iconic V-J day moment (there may be a better word for this)“Embracing Peace.” On display throughout the Garden from March 1 to September 1, the exhibit will feature 21 individual pieces that celebrate the power of renewal and connection through art and nature this Spring.

Each sculpture on display in the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens reflect the realism and meticulous attention to detail that are the hallmark of Johnson’s work, incorporating powerful interactions from daily life into the fabric of the art. From whimsical memories and intimate moments between loved ones, to quintessential moments of inspiration in history, the effect is a totally immersive experience, inviting the viewer to step beyond the frame into the rich world of each minute.
